Dr. Kate Gibeault

Dr. Kate Gibeault joined the board for the NH Coalition to End Homelessness in 2024. Dr. Gibeault grew up in New Hampshire and holds a doctorate in the field of Religion and Society from Harvard. Her scholarly expertise is in religion in the wake of mass atrocities, and she currently serves as director of the Cohen Institute for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Keene State College. Her work on issues pertaining to housing insecurity began when she was living in San Diego, California, and working/teaching at the University of San Diego. While there, she served as co-director of the Urgent Challenges Collective, an initiative that conducted research, teaching, and advocacy work on homelessness and housing affordability. She has conducted numerous community-engaged research projects on these topics, and she also taught undergraduate courses on topics such as “Homelessness in the U.S.” In her free time, Dr. Gibeault enjoys spending time with family, doing yoga and enjoying the outdoors, and taking her cat for walks.
